Ingredients
  

12 oz egg noodles

1 lb ground beef (or turkey)

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, drained

2 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 cup sour cream

1 cup cottage cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Cook the Noodles: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

      Brown the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.

        Add the Sauces: Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

          Combine with Noodles: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked noodles with the meat sauce mixture, stirring until well coated.

            Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In another bowl, mix together the sour cream, cottage cheese, and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese. Stir until combined.

              Layer the Bake: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread half of the noodle-meat mixture evenly. Layer the cheese mixture over it, and top with the remaining noodle-meat mixture. Finally, sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella and the Parmesan cheese on top.

                Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

                  Garnish and Serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil if desired.
