Ingredients

2 cups rolled oats

1 cup natural peanut butter

1/3 cup honey or maple syrup

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

A pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Pan: Line an 8x8 inch square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.

Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, peanut butter, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir until everything is evenly blended. The mixture will be thick, but it should hold together well.

Add Chocolate Chips: Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips gently, ensuring they are distributed throughout the mixture.

Press into the Pan: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula or your hands to press it down firmly and evenly. The more compact it is, the better the bars will hold together.

Chill to Set: Place the dish in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow the bars to firm up.

Cut and Serve: Once set, lift the bars out of the dish using the parchment paper. Cut into squares or rectangles as desired. Enjoy!
