Ingredients

1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

3 large eggs

1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup pecans, chopped

1/2 cup granulated sugar (for praline topping)

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out your pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie plate. Crimp the edges as desired, and place in the refrigerator while you prepare the filling.

In a large mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt. Whisk until smooth and fully combined.

Pour the pumpkin mixture into the prepared pie crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.

Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue to bake for an additional 40-45 minutes, or until the filling is set and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

While the pie is baking, prepare the praline topping. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar, butter, and heavy cream. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is bubbling, then reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly until it slightly thickens.

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the chopped pecans. Allow the mixture to cool for about 10 minutes.

When the pie is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before drizzling the praline topping over the top.

Return the pie to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes to set the topping.

Remove the pie from the oven and cool completely on a wire rack. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Slice the pie and serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired. Enjoy your Praline Pumpkin Pie Delight!
