Ingredients

4 slices of thick brioche or challah bread

4 slices of ham

4 slices of turkey or chicken

4 slices of Swiss cheese

2 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp ground cinnamon

Salt and pepper to taste

Butter, for frying

Powdered sugar, for dusting

Maple syrup, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Sandwich: Take two slices of bread and layer each with a slice of Swiss cheese, followed by two slices of ham and turkey. Top each with another slice of Swiss cheese and finish with the remaining slices of bread to create two sandwiches.

Make the Batter: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, salt, and pepper until fully combined.

Heat the Pan: Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of butter to melt.

Dip and Cook: Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated but not soaked. Once the skillet is hot, place the sandwiches in the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted. Add more butter as needed.

Serve: Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, and let them cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar. Cut each sandwich in half and serve with maple syrup on the side for dipping. Enjoy the sweet and savory explosion of flavors!
