Ingredients

12 mini hot dogs or cocktail sausages

1 can (15 oz) chili with beans

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 package (12 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional toppings: sliced jalapeños, chopped cilantro, diced onions, sour cream

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. Pinch the seams together to create a solid rectangle.

Cut the Dough: Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough into small rectangles, each about 3x3 inches. This should yield about 12 pieces.

Season the Chili: In a small saucepan, heat the canned chili over medium heat. Add onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and season with salt and pepper. Stir to combine and let simmer for 5 minutes.

Assemble the Dogs: Take one piece of dough and place a mini hot dog in the center. Top with a teaspoon of the seasoned chili and a generous sprinkle of cheddar cheese. Fold over the sides of the dough to encase the hot dog and chili, pinching the edges to seal.

Bake: Arrange the wrapped dogs seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.

Serve: Once baked, let them cool slightly before serving. Garnish with your choice of jalapeños, cilantro, onions, or a dollop of sour cream.
