Ingredients

1 cup fresh blueberries (plus extra for garnish)

1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

4 cups cold water

Ice cubes

Lemon slices (for garnish)

Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Blueberry Puree: In a blender, add the fresh blueberries and a splash of water. Blend until smooth. If you prefer a seedless lemonade, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the skins and seeds.

Make the Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.

Mix the Lemonade: In a large pitcher, combine the blueberry puree, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and the cooled simple syrup. Add in 3 cups of cold water (adjust to your taste preference for sweetness and strength). Stir well to combine.

Chill: Refrigerate the blueberry lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld beautifully.

Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the blueberry lemonade over the ice, and garnish with additional blueberries, lemon slices, and fresh mint leaves if desired.
