Ingredients

1 lb ground pork or turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped green onions

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 egg, beaten

1 tsp soy sauce

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned, drained)

1/2 cup teriyaki sauce

1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork/turkey, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, chopped green onions, minced garlic, beaten egg, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined but do not overmix.

Form the Meatballs: With your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1-inch in diameter. Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space in between each.

Bake the Meatballs: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.

Glaze the Meatballs: While the meatballs are baking, heat the teriyaki sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat. If you like a little extra sweetness, you can add in the pineapple chunks to the sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce: Once the meatballs are done baking, remove them from the oven and place them in a large bowl. Pour the teriyaki sauce (with or without pineapple chunks) over the meatballs and gently toss to coat them evenly.

Serve and Garnish: Transfer the coated meatballs to a serving platter. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and optional fresh cilantro before serving.

Enjoy: These delicious Hawaiian meatballs are best served warm as a snack for your Superbowl party!
