Ingredients

1 ½ lbs ground turkey

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

¾ cup milk (or a dairy-free alternative)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons ketchup (plus extra for topping)

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Sauté Vegetables: In a small skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until they are soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, sautéed onion and garlic, egg, milk, Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, dried thyme, oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined, but be careful not to overmix.

Shape the Loaf: Transfer the turkey mixture to the prepared loaf pan and shape it into a loaf. Smooth the top with a spatula or the back of a spoon.

Add Topping: Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top of the meatloaf for a tangy glaze.

Bake: Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Rest and Serve: Remove the meatloaf from the oven and allow it to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley for a touch of color and flavor.

Enjoy: Slice and serve with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes or a fresh salad.
