Sirloin steak is renowned for its robust flavor and tenderness, making it an excellent choice for this dish. Sourced from the rear back portion of the cow, sirloin is a versatile cut that provides a good balance of flavor and tenderness. It is typically leaner than ribeye but still offers enough marbling to ensure a juicy bite.

Ingredients

1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes

1 package (16 oz) potato gnocchi

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Steak Bites: In a large bowl, toss the cubed sirloin steak with olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, oregano, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Ensure all the steak pieces are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Cook the Gnocchi: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions (usually about 2-3 minutes), or until they float to the surface. Once cooked, drain and set aside.

Sear the Steak: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak bites in a single layer, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Tomatoes: In the same skillet, add the halved cherry tomatoes. Cook for about 2 minutes, just until they start to soften.

Combine Ingredients: Lower the heat and return the steak bites to the skillet along with the drained gnocchi. Toss everything gently to combine and heat through, about 1-2 minutes.

Finish with Fresh Herbs: Once everything is heated, sprinkle fresh basil over the mixture, and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.

Serve: Plate the steak bites and gnocchi, topping generously with grated Parmesan cheese. Enjoy your flavorful meal!
