3 cups granulated sugar

¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 cup unsalted butter

1 cup evaporated milk

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup mini marshmallows

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans – optional)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Pan: Line an 8x8 inch square baking dish with aluminum foil, allowing some overhang for easier removal later. Lightly grease the foil with butter or non-stick spray.

    Mix Sugar and Cocoa: In a large saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder. Stir them together until well mixed.

      Add Butter and Milk: Cut the unsalted butter into chunks and add it to the saucepan along with the evaporated milk. Stir to combine all ingredients.

        Cook Mixture: Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a full boil, stirring constantly. Allow it to boil for exactly 5 minutes without stirring. This is essential for achieving the right fudge texture.

          Add Chocolate Chips and Marshmallows: Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and vanilla extract. Stir until the chocolate chips and marshmallows are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

            Fold in Nuts: If you’re using nuts, fold in the chopped nuts gently until evenly distributed throughout the fudge.

              Pour into Pan: Quickly pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly within the corners.

                Cool and Set: Let the fudge cool at room temperature for about 2 hours or until set. You can speed up the process by placing it in the refrigerator.
