Ingredients

3-4 pounds beef brisket

1 cup beef broth

1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)

1 medium onion, sliced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cumin

8 sandwich buns

Coleslaw (optional, for serving)

Extra BBQ sauce (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Brisket: Trim excess fat from the brisket and pat dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and cumin on both sides.

Sauté the Aromatics: In a skillet over medium heat, add a little oil. Sauté the sliced onions until they are translucent (about 5 minutes). Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant. Remove from heat.

Set up the Slow Cooker: In the slow cooker, pour in the beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Place the sautéed onions and garlic over the liquid.

Add the Brisket and Sauce: Place the seasoned brisket into the slow cooker, then pour the BBQ sauce over the top. Add brown sugar, ensuring the brisket is well-coated.

Cook: Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the brisket is fork-tender.

Shred the Brisket: Once cooked, carefully remove the brisket from the slow cooker. Let it rest for a few minutes before using two forks to shred it into bite-sized pieces.

Serve: Return the shredded brisket to the slow cooker to soak up more of the BBQ sauce. Serve on toasted sandwich buns, topped with coleslaw and an extra drizzle of BBQ sauce if desired.

                Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 8-10 hours | Servings: 8
