Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)

1 bell pepper (any color), sliced into strips

1 medium onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1/2 cup beef broth

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked white rice, for serving

Green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, cornstarch, and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Mix well to coat the steak and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.

Prepare the Vegetables: While the steak is marinating, slice the bell pepper and onion. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.

Cook the Steak: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.

Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour in the beef broth, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine and allow the mixture to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through and slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve: Remove from heat and serve the pepper steak over cooked white rice. Garnish with sliced green onions.
