Ingredients

For the Cake:

1 box of vanilla cake mix (plus ingredients required on the box)

1 cup of whole milk

1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

For the Ice Cream Layer:

1 1/2 quarts of your favorite ice cream (softened; choices like vanilla, chocolate, or cookies and cream work great)

For the Frosting:

1 cup of heavy cream

1/2 cup of powdered sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

For Decoration:

1/2 cup of chocolate shavings or sprinkles

Fresh fruit (such as strawberries or blueberries)

Optional: chopped nuts or cookie crumbles

Instructions

Prepare the Cake:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking sheet.

      - In a large mixing bowl, combine the vanilla cake mix, milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until just combined and pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet.

        - Bake according to package instructions, usually around 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.

          Add the Ice Cream Layer:

            - Once the cake is cooled, gently spread the softened ice cream evenly over the top of the cake. You may want to soften the ice cream a bit more if it's too hard to spread. Use a spatula for a smooth finish.

              - Place the cake in the freezer for at least 1-2 hours to allow the ice cream to firm up.

                Make the Whipped Frosting:

                  - In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.

                    - Spread the whipped frosting evenly over the ice cream layer once it's firm.

                      Decorate:

                        - Top the whipped frosting with chocolate shavings or sprinkles, and arrange fresh fruit and optional toppings as desired.

                          Serve:

                            - Return the cake to the freezer for at least 30 more minutes before slicing. Slice into squares, serve, and enjoy!
