Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup chocolate chips

1 cup pecans, chopped

1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract until combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven.

Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the partially baked layer.

Spoon the remaining batter on top, spreading it gently to cover the caramel layer.

Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with additional chopped pecans if desired.

Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy your indulgent turtle bars!
