Ingredients

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs (beaten)

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1 cup honey

1/2 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic (minced)

1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated)

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Cooking oil (for frying)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Set Up the Breading Station: In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour in the first bowl, the beaten eggs in the second, and panko breadcrumbs in the third.

Bread the Chicken: Dip each piece of marinated chicken in the flour, shaking off excess, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it well with breadcrumbs. Set aside on a plate.

Fry the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of cooking oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken pieces in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a separate saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Stir in the cornstarch-water mixture to thicken the sauce, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously until desired consistency is reached.

Coat the Chicken: Pour the honey garlic sauce over the crispy chicken pieces and toss gently to coat evenly.

Serve: Plate the crispy honey garlic chicken and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve immediately, either on its own or with steamed rice and vegetables.
