Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 lb ground turkey

1 cup breadcrumbs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)

2 large eggs

1 onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups mixed vegetables (such as carrots, peas, and corn)

1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Meat Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, eggs, chopped onion, minced garlic, milk, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Layer with Vegetables: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the mixed vegetables in an even layer. Pour the meat mixture over the vegetables and press it down gently to form an even layer.

Add Marinara Sauce: Spread the marinara sauce evenly across the top of the meat mixture, ensuring it’s well covered.

Cheese Topping: Sprinkle the extra shredded cheddar cheese over the marinara sauce to create a cheesy crust.

Bake: Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and lightly golden.

Rest and Serve: Once baked, let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
