Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons black peppercorns, coarsely ground

4 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 medium onion, sliced

2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, minced

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Optional: steamed rice or noodles for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and half of the ground black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to tenderize the meat and enhance its flavor.

Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef is marinating, slice the onions and bell peppers, and mince the garlic and ginger. Set aside.

Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned but not fully cooked. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onion, bell peppers, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet crisp.

Combine and Season: Return the partially cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Add the remaining black pepper, sesame oil, and stir everything together. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the beef is fully cooked and the flavors meld together.

Serve: Transfer the black pepper beef to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
