Ingredients

8 ounces of pasta (your choice: penne, fusilli, or rigatoni)

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, with juices

1 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a blend of your favorite cheeses)

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté the Aromatics: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant.

Brown the Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high, add the ground beef to the skillet, and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat.

Add Tomatoes and Broth: Stir in the diced tomatoes (with their juices), beef broth, oregano, basil, black pepper, and salt. Bring the mixture to a simmer, allowing it to thicken slightly for about 5-7 minutes.

Combine Pasta and Cheese: Reduce the heat to low, then add the cooked pasta to the beef mixture. Stir in the cheddar cheese until melted and the pasta is well-coated.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve hot and enjoy your cheesy beef bliss!
