Ingredients

1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 6-8 pounds)

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup honey

1/2 cup pineapple juice

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground cloves

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 can (20 oz) sliced pineapple in juice, drained (reserve juice)

10-12 whole cloves for studding

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

Prepare the Ham: Place the ham in a large roasting pan. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern with a sharp knife, cutting about 1/8 inch deep. This will help the glaze adhere better and add flavor.

Stud the Ham: Insert whole cloves into the intersections of the scored diamonds for added flavor.

Make the Pineapple Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, honey, pineapple juice, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and black pepper. Stir over medium heat until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat.

Add Pineapple Slices: Arrange the sliced pineapples on top of the ham, securing them with toothpicks if needed.

Glaze the Ham: Brush half of the pineapple glaze over the ham and pineapple slices, ensuring they are well-coated.

Bake the Ham: Tent the ham with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until heated through. Baste the ham with the glaze every 30 minutes.

Caramelize the Ham: For the last 20 minutes of baking, remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C). Brush with the remaining glaze and let it caramelize slightly, resulting in a beautiful, golden-brown exterior.

Rest and Serve: Once the ham has reached an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C), remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm with pan juices.
