Ingredients

1 pound chicken tenderloins

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

Cooking spray or oil spray for air frying

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken tenderloins to the mixture, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight) to allow the flavors to infuse.

Prepare the Coating: In one shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour. In another shallow dish, whisk the eggs until well beaten. In a third shallow dish, place the panko breadcrumbs.

Coat the Chicken: Remove each chicken tender from the buttermilk mixture, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Dredge it first in the flour, shaking off any excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

Arrange in the Air Fryer: Spray the air fryer basket with a cooking spray to prevent sticking. Place the coated chicken tenders in the basket in a single layer, making sure they don’t touch. You may need to work in batches.

Cook the Chicken: Lightly spray the tops of the coated chicken tenders with cooking spray or oil. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken tenders are golden brown, crispy, and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).

Serve: Once cooked, remove the chicken tenders from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ranch, honey mustard, or barbecue sauce.
